Services for students with disabilities
The Centre for Students with Disabilities (CSD) at Douglas College provides a variety of services, equipment and programs to support the educational goals of students with disabilities.
We provide transition information for prospective students and offer help with admission and registration procedures. The Centre maintains individualized services to current students, and support services to faculty and employees of the College with regard to accessibility and reasonable accommodations. The Centre also liaises with community-based services in establishing career plans for individual students with disabilities.
Be prepared to provide:
- your name
- your student number
- the courses or program you plan to take
- your registration time slot
- the type of disability you have
- the type of assistance you require
Deaf students, students using Talking Books or students requiring attendant care aides should contact a CSD instructor three to four months before semester start to discuss special registration procedures.
Students with a disability who do not require assistance for the registration process but who may need educational support should make an appointment with a CSD instructor to discuss the range of supports and services available.
